Kids in the Park & Facepainting
Open 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Kids in the Park is a free activity area for kids where they can make their own art under the supervision of show volunteers. Specific activities vary from year to year, but typically involve three or four small projects. At the 2010 show, kids will be able to make knapsacks, sand art, and scratch art among other projects.
Face painting is part of Kids in the Park. Facepainting volunteers are often from the South Portland Schools.
Volunteers from New England Falun Dafa will again be present to show the kids how to make traditional Chinese folded paper lotus flowers.
Julie & Brownie will entertain kids with three musical shows, at approximately 10:30, 12:30 and 1:30. Julie & Brownie’s fun musical shows with positive themes for kids have earned them both critical praise and public popularity. They appear at more than 100 fairs, festivals and events each year throughout New England. For more information about Julie & Brownie, visit www.juliebrownie.com.
Kids in the Park is located in the Broadway/Ocean Street area of the park, near the food court.
Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution was the 2009 sponsor of Kids in the Park and Facepainting.
